Changes to the ESL Conversation Circle in January

There are exciting changes coming to the ESL conversation circle in 2019!  The circle will have a new home in the Academic Success Centre, Room N266 in North Campus.  The new coaches will be called peer communicators, and will continue to offer a variety of interesting conversation activities. Because there are several peer communicators, students will have the opportunity to practice English with different English speakers.

The ESL Conversation Circle has been a program in the library for over nine years.  Soon after it started, we added the Writing Circle and the ESL Reading Circle.  Many library staff have been coaches over the years and we would like to thank them for all their hard work, dedication and enthusiasm.  Helping students learn English has been a very rewarding and special experience for us.

While we are sad to see the circle leave the library, we are really excited by the new energy that the peer communicators will bring to this program.

We will have more details about schedules, how to participate, etc., in January.

Get extra research, library, and computer support, and take some time to unwind with yoga, meditation, karaoke, Zumba, ping pong, board games, adult colouring and origami activities.

Free $1 print cards and refreshments will be provided for all attending students.

Bagged dinner will be provided to students who register by November 15 at the library or online.

Remembrance Day Library Closure

In honour of Canadians in the armed forces who died in the First and Second World Wars, as well as the Korean and Afghanistan wars, the library will be closed November 10 - 12 to celebrate Remembrance Day.

This year's Remembrance Day marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
